Due to the current freeze of US AID by the United States government, Hands and Hearts for Africa is launching a Special Appeal for the Stephen Lewis Foundation (SLF) this coming Sunday, March 30th. 

We are asking you to consider a donation for this Urgent Appeal to help offset the current loss of funding for SLF projects and programs. The Foundation reports that 40% of funding for SLF programming comes from USAID. Sadly, the freeze of this funding creates fear and anxiety among African HIV/AIDS patients and jeopardizes life-saving, life-enhancing community programs that support them.

Stephen Lewis describes this present moment as 'the greatest crisis for African healthcare since the1990'S and 2000'S.'  Furthermore, this freeze and lost revenue will mean that many men, women and children in Africa will die.
