We are still in the midst of summer and feeling the heat, but I thought it was time for an update and a look ahead at worship in September and October.
After taking the month of August off from worship at RHUC, we'll join together again on Sunday, September 7th to welcome our new part-time minister. More details about our new minister will be coming at the end of August as we are waiting for final approval from Shining Waters Regional Council and they didn't meet in July. Their next meeting will take place on August 26th. Please stay tuned!
We will have two services with our new minister and then she will be away for two weeks on a previously planned holiday. Here is what is happening on those two Sundays and beyond:
September 21 - Our own David Leyton-Brown will be providing a reflection on his time at General Council in Calgary, Alberta (Lay Liturgist: Anne Leyton-Brown)
September 28 - Sandra Loughton will be leading the service and continuing the series of reflections on The Ten Commandments: Are they a good guide to life in the 2020's? (Lay Liturgist: Carol Moore)
October 5 - Along with our new minister, RHUC's Music Director, Barry Peters, will be leading us in an introduction to the new United Church hymn book, Then Let Us Sing.
October 12 - Thanksgiving Sunday
We're looking forward to seeing you again in September either in person or on Zoom.
Summer blessings,
Sandra Loughton
