Richmond Hill United Church has been part of the life of this community for generations. The
congregation dates back to 1810, and this historic building at 10201 Yonge Street was built in
1880. As a landmark in Richmond Hill, this building has held worship, music, weddings,
funerals, baptisms, community gatherings, and many shared experiences for people from all
walks of life over the years.
Today, our first step is to stabilize the historic building so that it can be made safe, stable, and
usable again. Reopening the sanctuary is not just about repairing a building. It is about caring
for a space that has held generations of memory, and preparing it for those who have not yet
arrived.
Our immediate fundraising goal is $100,000 to help us take this first step toward reopening the
sanctuary.
In the future, we know that a larger capital campaign will be needed, with an estimated goal of
 $3 to 5 million, to support the wider restoration and long-term renewal of the building.
But for now, our focus is clear: REopen the sanctuary and begin again.
