Esther Collier is the Communications Coordinator for CARH. CARH has been working with the Sustainability Section & the Strategic Communications branch of the City to create a logo, which will direct people to the updated Climate Change Action Plan.

CARH will be speaking directly with the Mayor and a few Councillors to urge them to speak to the fact that Richmond Hill has a climate plan and that residents and businesses have a role to play in that plan.
What can you do?
RHUC members could ask their Councillors to incorporate regular updates on the Sustainability work being done in the City and congratulate them on the addition of the UNU-INWEH and on Richmond Hill’s new identification as the first Frontrunner City in Canada to be helping to advocate the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Rohit Ramchandani (the UNU representative) explained how the 17 Sustainable Development Goals https://sdgs.un.org/goals were developed over a long period of consultation with almost every country and culture in the world. He said: We need to stop promoting our religion or nationality and begin promoting these 17 values as the world’s global values.
