Men’s Breakfast

Richmond Hill United Church's next in-person Men’s Breakfast will be on Saturday, November 9th, 2024.  Coffee, Tea and conversation will begin at 8:00 am followed by breakfast at 8:30 am, prepared by our UCW friends.  All are most welcome, so please feel free to invite your friends and loved ones.  The Men’s Breakfast is a time of fellowship and camaraderie for all Genders.  Please contact us if you’re interested in more information about it. After Breakfast our own Wilhelm Bleek will talk about “The Brothers Grimm and German Politics”. Jacob (1785-1863) and Wilhelm (1786-1859) Grimm are today worldwide known as the editors of a collection of fairy tales. At their times in the 19^th century they were highly respected as cultural scholars, mainly of Germanic historical language, literature and common law. Wilhelm Bleek will look into the political contribution of these esteemed academics to nation-building in Germany.

This talk at RHUC Men’s Breakfast will be a dress-rehearsal for Wilhelm’s lecture at the end of November, when he will receive the “Brothers-Grimm-Price” at the hessian University of Marburg.
